NEW YEAR’S EVE TRADITIONS

Create a jar full of small notes of profound moments that highlight the year to come so you can go through and read them the following year. You can get the family involved and have them write down their own memories and achievements and read them together every New Year’s Eve.

Time Capsule

Keep a box of mementos, letters, itineraries, and photos that marked the year you had, and keep it in a safe place to be opened next New Year’s Eve.

Host or attend a New Year’s Eve party! This is one of the most fun ways to celebrate and bring in the New Year. Gather your closest friends and family together with food, music, and games.

New Year’s Eve Countdown Bag

Create gift bags for each hour leading up to midnight with small trinkets, activities, snacks, and small surprises for the family to enjoy together.

Build A Fort

Get the kids together and spend the night building a fort with cozy blankets, comfy pillows, and string lights. Watch movies, play board games, get some snacks, and enjoy the quality time.

New YEAR’S EVE TRADITIONS

Movie Marathon

Choose a theme, a series, or a genre that everyone can watch and enjoy together. Take out some snacks and other treats. Have popcorn and chocolate: A match made in Heaven.

Make a Scrapbook

Take some time to reflect while creating a personal or family scrapbook. Highlight any memories from the past year. Decorate it with others and spend time reminiscing.

It’s okay if everyone sounds like a dying cat (lol). Sing your heart out anyway and host a karaoke night with the family. Create a playlist with everyone’s favorite hits and celebrate the end of the year with your favorite music.

Balloon Pop Countdown

Write different fun and engaging activities on slips of paper and place them inside the balloons. For every hour leading up to midnight, pop a balloon to reveal what the next activity is.

Prayer Wall

Decorate a wall with sticky notes where each loved one has the opportunity to write their prayers and goals for the new upcoming year.

Recipe Exchange

Do you have friends or family members who know how to throw down in the kitchen?! If you’ve shared a meal in the previous year and had some family favorite’s, have each family member bring a recipe to add to a shared cookbook. Use it as a chance to cook together and enjoy the recipes on New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve Pajama Party

Make a simple thing really special. Have friends or family come over in pajamas to watch movies, talk, play games, and have the best snacks.

DIY Confetti Poppers

This can be a really cool craft for kids. Make your own confetti poppers using toilet paper rolls and tissue paper. As you countdown into the New Year, pop them for a truly memorable celebration.
